EMC 2019 Düsseldorf
The GDMB “Young Scientist’s Paper Award” was conferred for the very first time at the EMC / Pb-Zn 2015.
The “Young Scientist’s Paper Award” is presented to students or junior engineers or scientists for outstanding papers which contribute to future developments in the field of metallurgy.
The candidates must not be older than 30 years of age. The criteria, on which the selection of the winner is based, are the following:
• the scientific significance for the metallurgical industry
• the possibility of practical implementation
• the future prospects for the research results
• and the professionalism of the presentation.
Every participant at the conference is entitled to vote. Paper ballots will be handed out together with the conference documentation, on which one favourite can be selected.
The winner will be announced in the 5/2017 edition of World of Metallurgy – ERZMETALL. The presentation will also be printed in this edition in the form of an article along with a brief introduction of the award winner.
The prize will be the complete assumption of participation costs for the next EMC, including the fees for the evening programme. At this event, the prize winner will have the opportunity to thank the plenum and to address the conferment of the next award. In addition, the winner will receive a free two-year GDMB membership.
This kind of award corresponds to the consistent implementation of the GDMB slogan “We support the future’s resources”, by integrating young academics into the existing network of experts of our society, and to help shape the research and industry in the field of metallurgy.
